What is Design Thinking?

Design Thinking is a creative problem-solving process used by inventors, engineers, and innovators around the world. It’s how we turn ideas into real-world impact.

At its core, design thinking helps you:

• Understand people’s needs

• Come up with bold ideas

• Build and test prototypes

• Improve and try again

It’s not about being perfect—it’s about thinking like a designer: curious, empathetic, and ready to solve meaningful problems.

The 5 Phases of Design Thinking:

Empathize – Understand the people you're designing for

Define – Pinpoint the real problem

Ideate – Brainstorm creative solutions

Prototype – Build a quick model of your idea

Test – Try it out and improve it

In Project Invent, we use Design Thinking to tackle real problems in our communities. Whether you're inventing a device, an app, or a service, you’ll learn how to listen deeply, create boldly, and design with purpose. It's great to learn for school - and for life.
